Bio, eh?

Dylan Maranda is a Canadian director, writer, and producer. He grew up next to a railway line in a 1 bedroom apartment.  Across the street was a movie theatre, a bowling alley, a hardware store, and a small Chinese restaurant. Every morning, the train would rumble past his top bunk window. The conductor would almost always wave.

After studying film direction at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts, he began his career directing commercials.

As a narrative director, his short film Master of the House (CBC) premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival.

As a writer, he has received Black List “Recommended” status, and he is a 2026 Centrum Foundation artist-in-residence for feature film writing.

In 2023, Dylan founded Deluge, an artist-led production company for auteur-driven filmmaking. Deluge’s slate includes Savage House (acquired by Paramount), starring Richard E. Grant and Claire Foy; Carrying Fire, starring Gaby Hoffmann, Amanda Plummer, and Ty Simpkins; and For Good, starring Joel Kinnaman and Paul Raci.
